Co-founder, President & CEO
John is a fifth generation Californian who somehow drifted across the Sierra mountains and into the high deserts of Northern Nevada. He is a quiet rebel – reflexively rejecting anything the looks like a cookie-cutter, follow-the-crowd answer to a complex problem. It’s baked into his DNA, as he finds conformity troubling. He loves to write and to speak in public – especially about VeracityID. And he will likely bore you with talk about baseball and American history if you let him. Don’t say you haven’t been warned.
John passionately believes that ‘big data’ fraud anticipation and prevention solutions have the power to positively transform how people engage with one another in our increasingly interconnected world. Their wise and ethical application use can improve how we interact, expand what we can do together and drive better results – and yet reduce risk by introducing a new kind of earned, virtual trust into relationships. In particular, he believes that VeracityID can play in significant role in helping individuals and companies express greater confidence in the people with whom they interact around the world while highlighting and isolating those would do them harm.
In prior lives, John held leadership roles at several software start-ups in the risk, advanced manufacturing and pricing analytics marketplaces. He also led ‘big data’ initiatives for numerous leading global financial and health institutions. And he spent more than a decade advising senior technology and financial executives during tours with global consultants McKinsey & Company and AT Kearney.
Jaya Prakash Rao
Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer
Jaya is somebody who has programming in his blood. A workaholic, his intellectual blend of technologist, entrepreneur and innovator are unique in Silicon Valley that is mostly driven by sales expertise. He has spent a career working on whatever he found interesting, which has, at various times, included robotics, networking, applications development, security and cloud computing.
Jaya began his career at the Oracle Corporation in the late 1980’s, and quickly rose to its executive ranks. starting as a developer and then as technology architect/strategist. In his last role at Oracle, he oversaw the launch of Oracle Business OnLine – the company’s first online service offering. From there, he went on to develop deep experience in Internet security and SaaS application development through executive roles at application services provider Corio (IPO; purchased by IBM for $182M in 2005) and as a founding team member of cyber security leader ArcSight (IPO; purchased by HP for $1.5B in 2010). In recent years, Jaya co-founded a boutique development firm that developed its own SaaS application development platform upon which it seeded and launched start-ups in telehealth, risk and compliance, and national security markets.
Jaya’s success can be credited in part to his quiet management style, which is best reflected by a motto of philosopher Lao-Tzu: “A leader is best when people barely know he exists. Not so good when people obey and acclaim him. Worse when they despise him. But of a good leader who talks little, when his work is done and his aim fulfilled, they will say, ‘We did it ourselves.'”

A true Scot (born, raised and expat), Frank started his career in government accounting, but grew tired of the public sector ‘numbers’ game. So, he joined the private sector where his creative ideas could be better executed to their full potential. From the traditionally stuffy world of accounting, risk management, anti-fraud management – where he stood out for being a creative guy who can really tell a good joke – Frank brings VeracityID and its customers a refreshing, engaging, and creative approach to the way organizations manage their business processes.
Frank believes that understanding people, their motivations and their behaviors is the key to fraud prevention. As he frequently reminds us – ‘people commit fraud – not things, not institutions, not locations – people’. He also understands that big data applications are the new roadmap to fraud discovery and that sharing fraud data within and across enterprises is key to turning the tide against fraudsters. He is passionate and deeply committed to VeracityID’s efforts to create a more trustworthy world.
Frank is also VeracityID’s in-house fraud guru. He is a co-inventor on two active patents in fraud detection and prevention. Frank developed his fraud credentials during his years as a managing partner of the national Government audit business at PricewaterhouseCoopers – where he worked with clients including Scotland Yard and some of the world’s most sophisticated risk and investigative units within global corporations. In more recent years, Frank collaborated with VeracityID Co-founder Jaya Prakash Rao to develop and launch a series of cloud-based software solutions for investigative services and telehealth markets.

Bill has successfully played the part of a high-impact big company executive, but much prefers the energy and excitement that bringing new solutions to those same companies from a start-up provides. He is known for his sharp wit and clever turn of phrase – meaning he is recognized as VeracityID’s resident Late Night Monologue Laureate.
In a very real sense, Bill has had the start-up bug from his earliest days. At age seven, he started his first for-profit venture – a dirt delivery service in Abu Dhabi – and he has been driving innovation and developing new markets around the world ever since. Bill started his professional career at global consultant PwC, where he rose to become a Partner and Practice Leader in their Strategic Consulting Group and focused on business transformation and internet-enabled business initiatives. In 2002, Bill left PwC to become COO of Financial Settlement Matrix (FSMx), an online financial transaction provider founded by Citibank, Wells Fargo, and i2 Technologies. Since then, Bill has had senior executive and advisory roles at several IT Security, Interactive Marketing and “Internet of Things” startups. VeracityID brings all those experiences into play – and our customers can see the difference he makes.
